Stephanie Felts grew up in Remsen, Iowa. After high school, she completed her Bachelor’s Degree at The University of South Dakota majoring in Health Sciences and minoring in Interdisciplinary Sciences. She then achieved her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Stephanie chose to become a physician assistant because she wanted to be a person that patients could trust and look to for advice about their health, while also educating them about their diagnoses. “What I love about being a PA is the relationships I get to build with my patients while making a positive impact in their lives.”
Stephanie was previously working in Urology in West Des Moines, in both a clinical setting and surgical first-assist setting. She ultimately decided she wanted to move back closer to home and her family, which led her to join our dermatology team here at Midlands Clinic and Midlands Cosmetic Dermatology & Skincare.
When asked about dermatology as a specialty, Stephanie explained, “I enjoy working in dermatology because I can help my patients both look and feel their best. Because the skin is the largest organ of the body, it certainly contributes to one’s quality of life. Practicing in dermatology, I have a great opportunity to teach my patients about their skin conditions, as well as promote prevention and early detection of skin cancers.”
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys cooking, biking, snow skiing, and traveling. She also values time spent with family and friends, as well as drinking coffee.
