Sarah Plueger (Harty) is a physician assistant specializing in occupational and environmental medicine. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Iowa. After graduating and becoming a certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist, she spent 3 years working at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s in the hospital laboratory. She then went on to attend the University of Colorado-Denver and received the Master of Physician Assistant.

Much of Sarah’s practice is related to musculoskeletal medicine, completing physicals for surveillance, pre-employment, respirator clearance, commercial drivers, completing fit for duty evaluations and annual exams, and various other work-related injuries. Sarah is competent and experienced in musculoskeletal injections, aspirations, laceration care, blood borne pathogen evaluations and management. She is certified by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrations National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners to perform commercial driver medical examinations (DOT physicals). She is also certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and holds current certifications in BLS and ACLS.

Sarah was awarded multiple scholarships while at the University of Iowa, including the Delores Gail Cordle Scholarship while in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program, and also graduated with honors.

Sarah is a native of Sioux City, Iowa and still lives in the SIouxland area with her husband and four children. She is very active in her children’s school and extra-curricular activities. In her free time, Sarahloves spending time with her family, especially outdoors swimming and boating. She also enjoys doing arts and crafts projects with her children and cheering on the University of Iowa football and basketball teams as a Hawkeye alum. Sarah is a fan of true crime shows, documentaries and movies, and enjoys decorating for the holidays, baking, cooking, and a wide variety of music.
