Katie’s work is focused on upper-extremity evaluations and treatments. She has experience providing care for conservative and postsurgical interventions. Katie enjoys working collaboratively with her patients in order to determine occupation-based goals and treatments that her patients find motivating and meaningful. Katie provides compassionate and holistic care to all of her patients and understands the dramatic impact upper-extremity conditions can have on a person. Katie conducts and publishes original research on occupational therapy’s role in addressing playing related pain and musculoskeletal disorders in musicians.
Katie also works as an instructor of occupational therapy for the University of South Dakota and teaches in their doctoral program. Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and two small children. Her hobbies include running, yoga, cooking, and reading.
