Dr. Bissell is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, general orthopaedics, and PRP therapy. His expertise includes joint replacement surgeries which include: hip arthroscopy (including treatment of femoroacetabular impingement and hip labral tears), complex shoulder arthroscopy, knee stabilization including ACL reconstruction, shoulder and knee arthroplasty, and general orthopaedic trauma.
Dr. Bissell completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT, where he also served as chief resident for one year. In 2010, he completed an orthopaedic sports medicine/shoulder fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. This fellowship included hip, shoulder, and knee arthroscopy.
Prior to joining CNOS, Dr. Bissell worked with various athletic teams and at sporting events to treat injured athletes, including the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, the University of Vermont, the Sugarbush Ski Injury Clinic and the Big 10 Wrestling Tournament. Dr. Bissell serves regional athletic teams including Wayne State University, Briar Cliff University, and multiple area high schools. He enjoys outdoor activities like biking, camping, hunting, fishing and snowboarding with his wife and four children.
