Joseph Morris, MD, is a dedicated and compassionate general surgeon at CNOS, serving patients in Sioux City, Iowa. Dr. Morris has been practicing in general surgery since 1991 and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for every patient.
A native of Sioux City, Dr. Morris earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City and his medical degree from the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
His surgical practice includes a wide variety of subspecialties, including thoracic surgery and vascular surgery, as well as surgical management of a wide variety of malignancies, including extensive experience in breast cancer treatment and management. Dr. Morris also has considerable knowledge of abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia surgery, and workers’ compensation cases. He performs acute care surgery as well, and many of his surgeries utilize a laparoscopic or minimally invasive technique to allow for a speedier and easier recovery for his patients.
Dr. Morris is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is board certified with the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the Society for Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. He currently holds hospital privileges at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's, MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Pierce Street Same Day Surgery, and Riverview Surgical Center.
